Our Process

Phase 1

  • We have a “needs analysis” meeting with you to determine what goals you are trying to accomplish. (For long-distance or international clients, we have you fill out a project planner questionnaire.)
  • We review the information and clarify any further details.
  • We present a detailed proposal to you with an estimate. The project should not rise above the estimated cost, unless the scope of the project changes (“scope creep”), and we will revise the estimate immediately.
  • You either accept our proposal, decline, or ask for revisions. However, we are pretty sure you will like what we bring to the table.

Upon accepting our proposal, we get agreements signed and invoice. The following is due:

  • 50% deposit (unless agreed otherwise).
  • All content or inventory of intended content.
  • Any existing logic flow or site architecture.
  • Any high-resolution image files (logo, brand identity, photos, etc.) in EPS format at 300 dpi.

From here, we take the information and content given and we create the final site architecture – how the site will flow. It is very important to finalize the site architecture in this stage because the entire visual design will revolve around it. We also want to avoid costly changes later in the project.

    Phase 2
We will now begin the visual design phase of the project. We will provide 1-2 initial concepts, as Photoshop mockups, and then 3 rounds of revision to the chosen concept. The concepts will consist of the homepage and possibly 1 subpage of the site.

After approval of the visual design, we will begin to build the XHTML and CSS templates.

    Phase 3
From here, we will take the templates and merge them into the content management system on the server. We will program any additional functionality into the site and begin to populate the site with the final content.

After all programming is complete, we will test and debug the site across multiple browsers and platforms to assure that the site is accessible to the widest audience. We will ask you to review the site and provide us with any edits or changes that need to be made.

The remaining 50% balance is due before launch and we will train those responsible in your organization to use the content management system and/or any additional functionality.
